The two sides of Kapha dosha: its balanced and imbalanced states

Kapha is one of the three bioenergetic forces in the human Physiology and governing principle in Nature that maintains stability and is responsible for cohesion and lubrication. Think of Kapha dosha residing in the head, chest, and lung areas but also the function of the structural tissues, synovial fluid around joints, and the bones in the musculoskeletal system.

Kapha is the essence of duality incarnate - desirability and paradise or excessiveness and suffering.

When balanced, Kapha can express as: feeling affectionate, calm, generous, and patient towards others, and sensual in one's nature; having a strong immunity; good endurance, muscular strength, and stamina; having strong joints and a bigger bone structure.

Balanced Kapha can also be expressed as pure 𝘖𝘫𝘢𝘴: pleasant and charming on every level of life and in Nature.

When imbalanced, Kapha can express as: allergy, asthma, congestion, and other respiratory disorders; feeling depressed or sad; unenthusiastic, dull, lazy and slow to get moving; holding onto unreleased emotions and undigested experiences, greediness and jealousy; a sluggish digestion; too oily skin; cysts and growths; flaccidity in bodily tissues; diabetes; and obesity.

To maintain a balanced Kapha dosha one needs to incorporate invigorating activities and exercise; zest up your cooking with heating, digestion-stimulating spices, use herbs that have a cleansing and scraping action, and are also appropriate to your mind-body design and other doshas.

It's a delicate balance, but as a Practitioner, I've got you covered.
